Building our Land Cruiser for our Journey

Road to Secret Beach. Belize Central America

This part is so much fun it hurts, tons of planning research and trial and error. Weight, compact design and dual purpose is the key to getting the rig built just right, along with what your activity goals are, roll that all together and really their isn't a easy way about it. But its so much fun, what works as a idea may not work in real time. So you have to go over it time and time again. And that's just the basics were not talking about vehicle mods like suspension, exterior road hazard protection, safety, lighting and performance upgrades.

So where do you start?... That's a good question, start with what you know. Start with the idea that you want to make a change in your lifestyle and how far do you want that change to develop into a reality. Then you can get a feel for what type of build will suit your needs. Give yourself a time frame, its just a time frame it can be extended or shorted depending on your mood or other circumstances, but the lesson on that is to be flexible.

We are now at the stage of coming to completion of our Land Cruiser build ( will it ever be complete its always changing, for the good I mean).  We have been waiting for over 2 months for one of the most crucial parts of our build, The Roof Top Tent.. This is the all decider to make sure everything fits the rig, the proper upgrades and did I do my homework, that is meant to be seen!!. With any luck we will get delivery sometime tomorrow (fingers crossed), it has been met with delays after delays and quit frankly it sucks to have so many things riding on this piece of critical equipment, I can't frickin wait!!! But wait I must!!

And really that's the part that hurts......
