Getting a really big box delivered.

Skycamp on truck

So in our last post I was waiting for our roof top tent, still after 2 months of delays, I'm pleased to announce that it has arrived. Only to be delivered by a single person, this huge boxed tent sitting vicariously on a long narrow wooden pallet. To be honest I had visions of this thing tumbling end over end out the back of his truck. As this lone delivery man trying to gain control of this enormous box, for a second I thought he lost it, but the stars were in my favor that day and he was quick to react as it wobbled toward sudden doom!....

This tent was manufactured in South Korea by a guy name Peter Soon who took his wife and two children on a 3yr 35,000mi camping tour of the USA, after which he developed this tent, the Skycamp. Although its one of the more pricey tents on the market, with the extensive research and development that went into manufacturing it, you can soon see why (pardon the pun). A cross between a pop-up trailer camper and a ground tent. His vision created what is known today as the iKamper roof top tent called the Skycamp, complete with a built in sky light. Set up and breakdown is pretty streamline and it makes for a quick and easy effort to get you camping.

Why am I telling you this well it just appeals to me that when you are going camping and taking all day to get to your destination that setting up your base camp is not a pain in the butt, and for this, it fits the bill!
