Pulling out of camp at George P Cossar State Park |
Pulling into Enid Lake MS was a pleasant sight- lots of camping sites available at George P Cossar State Park. It was a hot, late afternoon just before the park office closed. We waited in line to register and finally we got signed in and went to our lonely campsite for the night. Bare bones set up for a fast exit in the morning after coffee. Not so fast!!

Trail-fix broken weld |
Not so small of a hiccup, our locking latch for the RTT decided to break off and required fixing. Pulling out my nuts and bolts, 45 minutes later I was able to find a proper fix and solution that was secure enough to trust. "WHEW!" Jumping back on the TAT we cruised through little towns like Teasdale and Crenshaw before crossing the border into Arkansas.

Heading across MS River Bridge to Arkansas |
Driving over the Mississippi River from the Isle Of Capri (goofy casino) to Helena, Arkansas. a little hillside town connected to West Helena AR. We picked up the TAT

Over the MS River |
outside of Marvel AR. and headed west through farmland. Finding our way on and off the TAT could be challenging but anyway you go can be considered part of the TAT. Long stretches on Levy roads cutting right through dusty farmland, over brooks, creeks and irrigation ditches are all part of the TAT adventure.

Our trail took us north of
Little Rock AR, up around
Rose Bud past
Enders to
Woolly Hollow State Park. Here we found a very peaceful park located on a 40-acre lake. There were super clean comfort stations, bike trails, concession stand, and some very lovely campers by the name of Judy & Howard. Three nights camping and we were instant friends.

Good Morning Arkansas, Woolly Hollow State Park |
The weather was hot during the day and to top it off the lake was closed. Tested by the state every year this was the first time they posted a no swim order "E-coli"ban. Man could we have used a swim as the temperature approached 90.

Installing new WTB Riddlers |
No Worries, a bike ride on the mountain trails was great to get the blood pumping. Relaxing, reading or sipping diet cokes at the concession stand while using the only WiFi available filled our days. At night the temp got cool and sleep came fast.

Mtn. Bike trail at Woolly Hollow state Park |
On the third day we pulled up stakes and decided to go north to
Missouri,
Meramec Caverns State Park. A childhood memory
I wanted to see.

Back road sign! |
We headed straight up north to stay for a couple of nights and then drove back south again into
Arkansas to pick-up the TAT just outside of
Clinton AR.
See Y'all on the Road!!!
